Product Description
Mobil Rarus 400 Series oils are high quality lubricants intended for use in air compressors. They are formulated from highly refined base stocks having narrow distillation ranges. They incorporate
novel additive technology to give outstanding antiwear, antirust and antioxidation performance.
Their high viscosity index ensures effective lubrication at high temperatures.
Mobil Rarus 400 Series lubricants exceed the requirements of DIN 51506 VD-L standards and demonstrate a very high resistance to oxidation and deposit formation in the DIN 513532-1
Oxidation Test and the Pneurop Oxidation Test (DIN 513532-2). They are recommended or approved by many leading compressor manufacturers.

Applications

Mobil Rarus 400 series oils are recommended for single and multistage air compressors and are particularly effective for continuous high temperature arduous operation with exhaust temperatures up to 220oC. They are suitable for both reciprocating and rotary type machines, although the lower viscosity grades will be used mainly in rotary compressors.

Mobil Rarus 400 Series oils are suitable for crankcase lubrication in cross head type reciprocating machines.
Mobil Rarus 400 Series oils are compatible with all metals used in compressor construction and with mineral-oil compatable elastomers used in seals, O-rings and gaskets, as well as plastic air line lubrication bowls and sight glasses.
Mobil Rarus 400 Series oils are not intended or recommended for use in air compressors for breathing applications.
