Mobil Glygoyle Grease 00 is a high performance semi-fluid grease designed primarily for the lubrication of gearboxes where long oil life is required. It is formulated from a blend of a synthetic polyglycol fluid and a high quality mineral oil, thickened with a lithium soap.

The product has outstanding chemical and thermal stability. Its low coefficient of friction provides superior lubricity that results in improved efficiency and lower operating temperatures. Mobil Glygoyle Grease 00 has excellent load-carrying properties, reducing metal-to-metal contact to a minimum and giving long gear tooth life and smooth, quiet power transmission. It is used in filled-for-life gearboxes and enclosed gear units where maintenance access is difficult.

Application Considerations: Mobil Glygoyle Grease 00 is not miscible with mineral oil-based semi-fluid or grease-like products. When refilling a gear unit, which has previously been running on a mineral oil based product, it is recommended that the unit be flushed thoroughly and all traces of the previous lubricant removed before the unit is refilled with Mobil Glygoyle Grease 00. Do not fill the gearbox completely but add to a level about 10 percent above the oil mark. Excessive temperature rise indicates the need to add incremental amounts of Mobil Glygoyle Grease 00 until the temperature stabilises. Mobil Glygoyle Grease 00 is not compatible with conventional paints. The interior of the gearbox should be painted with high quality oil-resistant paint, such as epoxy-based paint.

Mobil Glygoyle Grease 00 is recommended as a long life gearbox lubricant for industrial applications where maintenance access is difficult, or where production service demands built-in lubrication for the life of the unit. It meets the lubrication needs of bearings and gears operating at bulk lubricant temperatures up to 120º C and for start-up temperatures as low as -18º C. it is recommended for worm, spur, helical and bevel gearboxes designs. Specific applications include:

• Filled-for-life gear units
• Enclosed industrial gearing where access is difficult and extended maintenance periods are routine
• Enclosed industrial gear units where leakage with fluid lubricants is a particular problem
