Silicone Grease
Silicone Grease
Silicone Grease is compounded from Dimethyl Polysiloxane Fluid, the product has a broad temperature range and is chemically inert, being resistant to; Water (Hot, Cold, Steam & brine), Lubricating Oils, Most Hydrocarbons & Solvents, Natural Gas, Refinery Gases & Condensate and many Acidic Solutions.
Silicone Grease is a Thixotropic – i.e. the product softens and can become fluid when agitated, then returns to a Grease-like consistency – making it unsuitable as a bearing grease for most bearings, as the action of the bearings may cause the grease to soften and “run out”. For this reason the standard grade of Silicone Grease is supplied as NLGI 3, though other NLGI Grades are available.
APPLICATIONS:
Silicone Grease has been designed for the lubrication of Cylinder Slides, Taps, Valves & Stopcocks (where the presence of chemicals & solvents mean that conventional products can not be used.)
Silicone Grease is a dielectric grease meaning that the product can be used with high voltage electrical systems for lubricating non conducting contacts, preventing corona discharge and for preventing flashover on high voltage anodes.
TYPICAL PHYSICAL CHARACTERISTICS:
- Appearance : Smooth Gel.
- Colour : White Semi-Translucent.
