Castrol Rustilo DW 924
Castrol Rustilo DW 924
Description
Castrol Rustilo DW 924 is a general purpose dewatering fluid. While its unusual characteristics make it suitable for many specialized applications, the good coverage of Castrol Rustilo DW 924 renders it ideal for most routine dewatering operations. Castrol Rustilo DW 924 is a clear, light brown mobile fluid. Upon evaporation of the solvent, Castrol Rustilo DW 924 leaves a micro-thin, greasy, transparent film that provides excellent protective properties for medium- to long-term storage.
Performance Benefits
- The film of Castrol Rustilo DW 924 is approximately 0.000025 inches thick, so it does not interfere with air gauge or light refractory measuring equipment; therefore it need not be removed from components subject to inspection.
- Even though Castrol Rustilo DW 924 does not risk high flammability or contain chlorinated compounds, it still dries quickly.
- Can be used for displacing water from the most intricate assemblies with shorter-than-usual dipping times.
- Resistant to emulsification and may be effectively applied by spraying, a procedure which is normally avoided if possible by users of dewatering fluids. Dewatering of large baskets of small components such as nuts and bolts may be speeded up by sharp agitation without any risk of emulsification.
- A natural fingerprint neutralizer, Castrol Rustilo DW 924 will effectively suppress fingerprint corrosion on bright steel and finely finished metal components during manufacture.
- Will accept alkali-degreased components with a minimum of water wash without emulsifying.
- Compatible with mineral oils; treated components require no cleaning prior to service where they had contact with lubricants. Therefore, Castrol Rustilo DW 924 is suitable protection for parts of hydraulic systems, etc. However, it does not harden during aging and may, if required, be removed with ease.
- Castrol Rustilo DW 924 has excellent long-term storage stability characteristics under severe temperature conditions. Does not thicken, precipitate, or gel when maintained at 32°F (0°C) for prolonged periods.
- With a film coverage in excess of five thousand square feet per gallon, Castrol Rustilo DW 924 is inexpensive to use. On the basis of cost per square foot, Castrol Rustilo DW 924 is less expensive than most short-term protectives; therefore, it is suitable for a wide variety of applications throughout industry, including operational protection.
Recommended Applications & Dilutions
Castrol Rustilo DW 924 may be applied by dipping, spraying, or brushing. It is completely homogenous and sediment-free and will not block spray jets, even when used at low temperatures. While removal is not normally necessary, the film may be readily removed by common petroleum solvents, suitable alkaline cleaners, or emulsion cleaners.
Precautions
The solvent used is flammable and the usual fire precautions should be taken.
